We all know what it means to experience loneliness- no one is immune to feeling lonely. As we focus on the relationships that you have in your school this month, our challenge to you is to think beyond your usual circle of friends. How can you make a connection with someone who has been feeling lonely? Maybe the lonely people are not the first people who come to your mind, but the ones who seem like they "have it all together". Who can you remind that they matter? How can you make your school a less lonely place this month?

My name is Danny Rigsby. Ever since I was a little kid, I have played basketball and I currently play basketball in college. From the outside, I sometimes looked like I had it all together, but there have been plenty of times I felt lonely. Everyone at times is lonely. But you have to reach out to people you trust and they will give you support. Life is a marathon and you have to keep on running until the end.

1. Is there someone in your life that you know you make proud? Do they tell you explicitly or how do you know?
2. Is there someone that you are proud of that you could tell? Does that seem like an appropriate thing to do at your age or do you think you need to be older?
3. Danny seems to get the most emotional when he talks about race and his family, did you notice that? What do you think might be coming up for him?
4. Are there things you hear in your life that feel insensitive? Is there something that we can say to people when they say things like that so they know they have hit a nerve? What might that be?
